ARC'TERYX X JIL SANDER+
Very much in sync with their usual crisp, cutting-edge, gimmick-free — you name it — take on what contemporary fashion should look like, Jil Sander’s creative directors Lucie and Luke Meier have partnered with surely one of the most performance-focused outerwear brands in the game; that is, Arc’teryx.
The collab consists of sophisticated takes on classic mountain sports garments, including shell jackets, a pair of bibbed trousers and a one-piece suit. All of which are, of course, made from fully waterproof and breathable 3L Gore-Tex and are, as well, cut to suit both women and men (with the exception of a long adjusted jacket made for women, and another one that’s boxier for men).
Again, if there’s one thing that stands out about this collection, it’s its simplicity of design and function. Ergonomically engineered, each piece features the essential properties of proper outerwear, namely pockets and zippers, which are all thoroughly placed throughout. So are the overlays of tonal weatherproof leather trims that add subtle, refined touch to Arc’teryx’s precise designs.
“We both grew up spending time in the mountains enjoying winter sports but we could never find garments that balanced high performance with high aesthetic quality. Eventually, with Arc’teryx, a company we have always admired for their rigor and commitment to research, we had the chance to design them,” say the Meiers in a press release.
Launching on November 10th, the Arc’teryx x Jil Sander+ collection will be available to purchase through both brand’s websites and select retailers worldwide /
