The lengths gone to in order to deliver yet another staggeringly detailed collection - in its entirety naturally dyed - are without boundaries it seems… the MFG team are explorers, foragers and as a result seem to unearth a ‘brave new world’ per collection, and we’re here for it, sat at the edge of their ‘wonderful world’ waiting patiently each time it drops /
Ingredients that make up the delectable dishes on the AW21 menu include ancient dye plants, heartwood, roots, berries and earth, to further amplify and elevate the celebration of craft we see a definitive 'handmade-ness’ technique pursued with hand embroidery, crochet, hand knit and hand weaving all making credible and quality memorable cameos throughout.
The traditional natural dye methods are on the seating plan adjacent to new resist patterns. Wax batik artists have colluded and collaborated with tie-dye specialists resulting in a surreal & unusual, almost 3D looking prints that aren’t actually prints but a negative dye.
Seeing is believing and it's a welcome sight to behold in a world of genericism and copycat culture… connect the aforementioned artisan wizardry techniques to illustrators, highlighting the time-less ritual of hand printing and you fundamentally have a work of art… again.
