GARBSTORE AUTUMN/WINTER 2023 COLLECTION

Garbstore’s AW23 collection is inspired by the Mountain Grill café that once inhabited Portobello Road. The birthplace of British beatnik culture and a hotbed for underground magazines, the Mountain Grill was a hub for discussion about counter-culture topics and hosted performances by some of the UK's most talented musicians.

The collection presents counter-culture silhouettes made from Japanese fabrics of the period, using original Corozo buttons and non-military issue Talon zippers. Soft velvets and sturdy corduroys, 60s nylon sailing coats and Made-in-England boucle knits are produced in the colours of the culture. Reproduction military clothes are upgraded with vintage blanket liners, coats and jackets are packed with fully recycled PrimaLoft insulation, and fleeces are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.
