Captain Helly Juell Hansen, probably one of the most famous sailors in the world, had been at sea since the age of 14. In 1877 at the age of 35, he and his wife began producing weather resistant clothing made from coarse linen soaked in linseed oil. This unique method of coating fabric against the elements won awards and created a movement in the nautical apparel industry. This

quickly spread to other areas such as mountaineering and agriculture in the harsh Nordic winters. Technologies within fabrication have taken giant leaps since then, but Helly Hansen's core ethos has not changed. The brand continues to develop award winning professional grade apparel that helps people feel and stay alive in the most challenging environments.

With arguably their most progressive collection yet, HH -118389225 (code named "Archive" ) is a capsule range of professional grade industrial performance-based apparel aimed at top tier conceptual fashion retailers. Combining years of knowledge and authority in the workwear and extreme sports sphere, each collection takes reference from a key area of Helly Hansen's vast library of products.

For HH -118389225 - 202 Autumn/Winter 2020, the focus is the "E-352" Offshore Immersion suit. Developed for Riggers, Fisherman and Rescue Services working in Artic environments, the E-352 is basically a wearable life raft. With its ability to combine cutting edge fabrics with innovative technologies, each suit creates a SOLAS approved micro environment for its wearer, allowing them to stay afloat and more importantly alive.

These elements are distilled with great effect in the 202 collection, which not only embraces the E-352's visual aesthetics but also utilises professional-grade fabrications, 3-layer shell technology, ultrasonic taped seams, 3M reflective detailing, and interchangeable utility patch pockets.

The "Arctic Survival” 3-way parka has a premium HELLY TECH(R) 3 PLY performance outer shell and PET filled inner jacket and features a layering system which allows the wearer to tailor their gear to their exact needs based on weather and activity level, while the reversible "immersion" down jackets utilise fully reversible premium nylons, blowable re-cycled PET insulation, PFC free DWR, and reveal differing but equally functional utility compartments on each side of the jacket.
