JJJJOUND X VAULT BY VANS

Certainly one of the internet’s most meticulously curated mood board, JJJJound has grown into something far more compelling than most other Tumblrs circa 2006. The lifestyle images from the blog’s timeline — which spans Mercedes and comparable luxury sports cars, road bikes, industrial-like sinks, Aran knits, Geta slippers etc., etc. — have become a resource for creative types who dig timeless design. With a growing following Justin Saunders applied his visual sense IRL and founded under the same name a design studio in which he does utility garms and refined sweats, Oxford shirts, basic socks and such other wardrobe essentials and, as well, collaborative projects with well-established brands — the latest being Vans /

Once again JJJJound has tweaked one of Vans’ fundamental staples (they’ve revamped the OG Old Skool a few years back), the Mid Skool 37, which back in 1978 was the skate label’s very first high-top shoe. Now in 2021, the sneaker sticks to its guns and honours the Mid-Hi’s enduring silhouette made in materials selected for their durability while being refined with Saunders’ minimalist lens, coming in deep brown, black or forest green suede.

The sneakers will be dropped daily on JJJJound.com, one after the other, from today, August 10, starting with the black colourway, before being available to buy at select Vault by Vans shops on August 14.
