FEATURE: PORTER FLYING ACE COLLECTION

In this latest installation at what is on offer at PORTER we have gone inside the flagship store in Shibuya, Tokyo to showcase the Flying Ace collection. Placing the items in areas of the store that provide a greater insight into the ambiance of the hotel themed store defines this editorial.

Inspired by the details of US AIR FORCE's nylon flight suit "FLYING SUIT / TAPE K-2A" manufactured in a short period of time in the early 1950s and focusing on "Utility, functionality and durability", which is the greatest characteristic of military gear, PORTER create this collection.

Based on "FLYING SUIT / TAPE K-2A", the materials of this series were studied in detail from yarn to tissue, and newly developed with high technology in Japan. This is a completely original material of PORTER. Adopting the design details of military items at that time, PORTER make each style functional for daily use. At that time, they custom-painted their flight jackets and fuselage body to inspire their courage and recall their hometown. Inspired by the culture, this series uses two “PILOT DOG'S”, which are adorable and peaceful, for original pinup dogs.
