CÔTE&CIEL SS23

Always exploring ways to deepen the connection between carriers and their bags, côte&ciel always innovates beyond the industry norms. For SS23, the Parisian conceptual label fused manmade and natural beauties, forging new paths and looking for ways to live in accordance with our environment. Inspired by the work of photographer Jonathan “JONK” Jimenez—whose pictures display abandoned places where plants gradually and naturally took over—the collection aims to showcase nature’s innate ability to overcome the most rugged materials over time.

Furthering its push into sustainable development, the label’s ever-present EcoYarn is layered against a papery Komatsu Onibegie nylon—an environment-conscious material which has been dyed in khaki and soft black with onion peels to capture JONK’s peculiar human-made-meets-nature photography style. This symphony of textures and colours can be found across key and newer styles alike, from the ISAR AIR, LADON, NEDA, and the all-new ADDA PLUS—a packable and expandable cross-body bag. In sharp contrast to this green wave, the same models also come in a deep-toned black palette, concreting the collection’s orbit of the natural world versus the manmade.
