EDITORIAL: LIBERDADE

In the aftermath of the series of pandemic-forced lockdowns across the UK, a time that impacted an entire coming of age generation, leaving them socially destitute, forced into reclusion and separated from their peers, this series of images is a narrative, a visual series pertaining to that time of loss and confusion, and a glimpse of the comeback.

Looking back, what were their dreams and memories? What did they miss? In our world continuously affected by pandemics, wars and climate change, will the young people of today recover, progress, and feel free to pursue beauty and the fluid poetry of interaction within their existence in everyday life?

In the half-light of near-spring, Liberdade is a poignant and somehow optimistic close up investigation of London’s youth in early 2022.
