CÔTE&CIEL: AW22

Let’s admit it: backpacks all too often look the same. The fabric choices or the colours and patterns may vary, but the exact same shape of backpack get copy pasted from left to right across the industry. This, thought doesn’t apply to côte&ciel. If anything, reinventing is what they do best.

Not deterred, but fueled by turbulent times we’ve been through, this season the innovation-led bag brand has, as always, delivered a range of functionality-driven bags. Drawing inspiration from the work of dutch painter M.C. Escher — who’s popularly known for his mind-meddling paintings in which staircases seem impossibly interconnected — côte&ciel introduced the all-new AÓOS, a bag which curls and wraps around itself in a never-ending wave of Memorytech fabric. A versatile high-concept bag, it features hidden zips so that it can be extended in a different, alternate shape.

Other innovative highlights from the collection: the ADRIA backpack, which appears to open like an unfurling flower bud; the already emblematic ISAR AIR and ISARAU that have been revamped with 3M reflective fabrications; and the newly updated, weight-reduced SORMONNE AIR, which now sits within the brand’s AIR assortment of lightweight options.

This shows that no matter what may be going on out there, côte&ciel keeps creating with lazer focus, forging new paths as they continue to look to the future.

The AW22 collection will be available in selected stockists around the world and coteetciel.com later this fall.
