Tell us about what you do and why you do it.
I’m a BMX rider, and I also create videos for my sponsors. I ride my signature parts and promote them through videos and social media. Once a year I go to California to film. As a kid, I was into surfing and skateboarding, but I got into BMXing when I saw a guy riding and started talking to him. I begged my dad to buy me a bike and it all started from there. I’ve also been painting since I was a kid, and recently I’ve been selling my oil paintings.
お仕事の内容と、それを始めたきっかけについて教えて下さい。
普段はスポンサーにClip(映像)を提供してます。自分のシグネーチャーパーツを乗りこなしてビデオやSNSで発信し宣伝してます。年一でカリフォルニアに撮影しに行きます。チャリを始めたきっかけはサーフィンやスケボーで遊んでた時BMXをやってる人がいて話しかけてから知り、親父に買ってもらいました。絵は子供の頃からずっと描いてて、最近油絵具で描いて売ってます。
How does living in Tokyo impact what you do?
When I first came to Tokyo, I knew I wouldn’t be able to live in this city for long, and the fact that the sea was not part of my daily life made me feel like I was far away. I actually moved to Yokosuka a year ago, and now I go back and forth between here and Tokyo.
東京について感じること、また東京という場所がご自身に与えた影響はありますか？
上京した時から長くは住め無い街だと感じてて、海が日常に無いのが自分が遠くにいる感覚でした。
メディアが自分を取り上げてくれるところが嬉しいし、かなり自身になりました。一年前横須賀に引越して都内を行き来してます。
How has the current climate affected your approach to work?
For me, there has been no real change. I believe I have to improve every day regardless of what’s going on in the world. And nowadays, technology is a treasure that cannot be replaced by money.
昨今の世の中の変化、そして新たな生活様式がご自身のお仕事、生活に変化をもたらせましたか？
変化は無いです。毎日技術を磨き内面から輝かせて行く事が自分のやるべき事だと思ってるからです。
技術はお金に変えられない宝物です。

Nature and fish.

自然と魚
How important is function and comfort to you?
I like to be able to move around freely. And the less you interrupt that, the more you can concentrate and enjoy other things. So, function and comfort definitely play an important role for me.

ないほうが違う事に集中できたり楽しめるからです。
Tell us about your personal environment and the impact your surroundings have on you.
The sea and the mountains are so close to me now that every day I feel a different expression of nature. Seeing it that way makes me honest and helps me to gain a deeper understand of myself. Both painting and BMX are forms of expression, so if the person expressing themselves doesn’t understand who they are, neither will the viewer.
今、ご自身のいらっしゃる環境や、それが与えた影響について教えて下さい。
海と山が近くて毎日違う自然の表情を感じます。自然のありのままの姿を見ていると、正直になり、もっと自分を深く理解出来るようになりました。絵もBMXも表現なので表現する側が自分を理解してないと見る人にも伝わらないと思うので。
